IF YOU CAN LEARN TO WRITE YOU CAN LEARN TO DRAW:
Wednesdays 11am – 1pm June 10, 17, 24, July 1
Fee $160 per person
This class is designed to take the fear out of drawing and introduce students to basic skills and materials. It is a beginner through intermediate level class for anyone who would like to learn how to draw or sharpen their skills. This class will explore a variety of drawing materials and techniques such as contour line, continuous line, and value drawing. There will be a focus on sharpening observation skills. The instructor fosters a creative, positive and encouraging studio atmosphere.
Fee includes drawing materials, students will need to bring an 18” x 24” Newsprint pad and an 11” x 16” Drawing Paper Pad.
WATERCOLOR KINDERGARTEN:
Wednesdays 11am-1 pm July 8, 15, 21 & 29
Fee $160 per person
Join me in an expressive and creative class that explores the techniques and materials used to create beautiful watercolor paintings. This workshop is designed for beginner to intermediate participants, no experience necessary. Washes, lifting off, wet on wet, dry brush, masking, and creating textures with household materials are some of the techniques that will be taught. Work will be done from still lives and photographs. Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace and explore their individual creativity.
Materials fee $20 if provided by the instructor, however participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and paper
WET CYANOTYPE WORKSHOP:
Session 1 Thursday July 30 10am-2pm bring lunch
Session 2 Saturday August 15 10am-2pm bring lunch

Join us as we explore the uniquely unpredictable photographic technique known as Wet Cyanotype. Cyanotype is a direct photographic process, no camera or expensive equipment required. It has been used by artists, photographers, and scientists for over 200 years. Wet Cyanotype is an expressive technique and allows for serendipity to have a hand in the creation of images. In this workshop we will explore several wet cyanotype techniques that can be done at home. Beautiful rich blue Images will be created by utilizing UV light, water, and natural items found in your kitchen cabinets.
All materials will be provided however participants may bring natural objects with interesting shapes and edges such as leaves, grasses, feathers, ribbon etc. objects should not be very thick such as twigs and rocks.
MONOTYPE WORKSHOP:
Thursdays 11am-1pm August 6, 13, 20
Fee $150 per person includes materials
Learn to make exciting one-of-a-kind prints. Monotype is an expressive form of printmaking that embraces painterly techniques. In this class you will be introduced to various printmaking materials as well as inking, and printing techniques. During this workshop participants will create single layer and multi-layer monotypes. No prior printmaking experience necessary.
This form of printmaking can be done with or without a press.
GELLIPLATE WORKSHOP:
Wednesday August 19 11am-1pm
Fee $75 per person includes materials.
Join us for an exciting workshop that will explore the many techniques of Gelli Plate Printing.
Gelli Plate Printing is a wonderfully expressive and versatile hand printing technique that is done without a press. Prints can be created on a variety of papers and fabrics with acrylic paint or printing inks. This form of printmaking is suitable for all ages and levels of expertise.
